KHLF Golf Invitational and Fundraiser

FORE! Join us for an unforgettable day at our 14th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, September 16th, 2024, at the world class Brampton Golf Club. With a shot-gun start, followed by a sumptuous dinner and exciting raffle and silent auction, it's a day filled with fun for a fantastic cause.

This years tournament will bring us together ‘on common grounds' in Brampton to support our newest program — On Common Grounds — creating Upopolis peer-to-peer connections based on lived experiences. Through our On Common Grounds programming, we connect youth with their peers, therapeutic and skill-building activities, and a facilitator between 20-25 years of age with lived experience moderated by child life specialists. The Upopolis team has facilitated On Common Grounds for grief, scoliosis, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, cerebral palsy, and oncology. Later this year, we will begin On Common Grounds programming for siblings and youth of adult patients.

Let's tee off for a brighter future, where every young individual feels supported and empowered to thrive. See you on the greens!

- - - IN SUPPORT OF KIDS' HEALTH LINKS FOUNDATION PROGRAMS - - -

Kids' Health Links Foundation (KHLF) is a non-profit and charity, co-founded by Basile Papaevangelou and his daughter Christina. It was inspired by Christina’s near death in 2002, and by the passing of her good friend Katy in 2004. Katy’s brave battle with cancer required long and frequent hospitalizations, making connecting with friends and family difficult. It became obvious to Basile and Christina that this isolation and disconnection was not unique to Katy’s experience but was typical for hospitalized youth across Canada.

Since 2007, KHLF has developed programs enabling connections between youth and their peers, amongst clinicians, and between health professionals and their patients, advancing KHLF’s mission… To use social technology and knowledge to alleviate the stress, isolation and loneliness of the hospitalized child.
